The Hulk! First "failure" at Marvel Comics in the Silver Age, only lasting six issues before cancellation. Of course, he returned in the Avengers for the first two issues, then guest-starring around the Marvel Universe for a while, then getting to share Tales to Astonish with the Sub-Mariner (replacing former teammates from the Avengers, Giant-Man and the Wasp) before taking over the numbering as his own series!

The Hulk! Featured in no less than three animated series (sharing the "Marvel Super-Heroes" series with Thor, Captain America, Iron Man and Sub-Mariner, then his own series to accompany "Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends" on NBC, and the more recent one on UPN), plus the popular (although way off the comics trail) live-action CBS series with Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno, he's one popular outcast! To say nothing of the four different Mego figures, a Marx Toys statue in the 60s, and a Toy Biz series (strangely, they didn't do a "Secret Wars" figure - or maybe not so strange, as the standard body type wouldn't work for him)... plus a number of other toys. Plus, he got Peter David writing his title for a looooong time!

Of course, Peter wasn't writing Greenskin in the 70s, but others were... as you'll see below! And the two primary artists were Herb Trimpe and Sal Buscema.
